Nakba 74 Rally and March 5/20 @11am, Tempe Beach Park

Today marks the 74th year since Zionist forces began the ethnic cleansing of nearly 800,000 Palestinians from their homes. While Nakba is the Arabic word for catastrophe, the events of 1948, characterized by ethnic cleansing and settler colonialism, persist to this day. The Nakba is ongoing for all Palestinians; for those in Gaza living in the world’s largest open air prison, for those in the West Bank living under military occupation in the West Bank, for those living as second class citizens of the Israeli state, and for every Palestinian that is awaiting their Right of Return.

Join us this Friday as we rally and march to commemorate not only the Nakba, but the lives of the Palestinians in Gaza who were killed at this time one year ago, the life of journalist Shireen Abu Akleh who was killed last week by the Israeli state, and the lives of all the martyrs that were killed by the Israeli state since its founding.

Be sure to bring lots of water and a hat!
